J. L. Carroll

J. L. Carroll was born in Lepanto, Arkansas on October 17, 1933 to Charlie Lee and Mae (Stanford) Carroll.  He departed this life in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas on October 17, 2024 on his ninety-first birthday.

J. L. known affectionately as “Muscles” loved fishing, hunting, and family get-togethers with friends. He was a member and baptized into the Church of God. J. L. was a maintenance man and enjoyed tinkering with small engines, specializing in lawn mower repairs.

He is survived by children: Michael Carroll and Brenda Young and her husband, James; five grandchildren: Chris Young, Timothy Carroll and  wife Brandy, Gary Carroll, Jeff Young and wife Karen, and Jason Carroll; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other friends and relatives.

J. L. was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Carroll; his parents; two sons, Danny and Terry Carroll; three sisters: Vera Watters, Dovie Wilson, and Murita Williams; three brothers: J. C., A. V., and Johnnie Carroll.

Funeral services will be at noon Thursday, October 24, 2024 in the Tri-County Funeral Home Chapel at Highland, Arkansas. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Agnos Cemetery in Agnos, Arkansas.

Services are entrusted to Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
