For many years James built homes around West Plains. After retiring he enjoyed sewing quilt tops with Carol, working in the garden and canning its produce.

On July 21, 1967, James was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He loved to study the Bible and share with others what he learned. He was intrigued by Bible Prophecy, especially found in Daniel, concerning the King of the North and the King of the South. This interested him because he believed he was witnessing the prophecy unfolding right now around the Earth. He looked forward to the time when Satan’s System and the sad conditions it has brought about, will be destroyed. Then Jehovah’s heavenly Kingdom could now rule over a cleansed Earth where true peace will reign, and the dead, will be woke up and reunited with each other right here on our beautiful Earth. It was James desire that all people come to learn the truth about this wonderful hope and be part of it.

The family has already held a private Celebration of Life. No public services are going to be held.
