James Donald Baskin, son of James Frank Baskin and Wanda Jean (Morelock) Baskin, was born May 21, 1944, in Clarksville, Arkansas, and departed this life January 18, 2024, in his home near Mansfield, Missouri, at the age of 79 years, 7 months, and 27 days.
He was united in marriage to April Brauer on July 31, 2010.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Carol McKim.
Jim is survived by his wife, April, of the home; 3 sons, James Lee Baskin, Robert Baskin, and Donnie Baskin; 2 daughters, Jamie Baskin, and Trisha Hayes; several grandchildren; 3 brothers, Tom Baskin, Jimmy Baskin, and Charles Baskin; sister, Margaret Rutledge; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Jim was born in Arkansas and lived many places in the United States and around the world growing up in a military family.
He served our country faithfully in the United States Army and was a longtime over the road truck driver known as “Rooster”. He moved to Mansfield, Missouri, in 2007, where he lived the rest of his life.
In his spare time, he enjoyed farm and yard work and custom- building model cars.
Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and a caring neighbor and friend. Jim was high spirited and could cheer you up when you were down. There was never a dull moment when he was present. We have many great memories of our time spent together.
