James E. Lawson, 68 years, 6 days old, passed away on July 10, 2024, in Madill, Oklahoma.
Jim was born July 4, 1956, in Ava, Missouri, to James Earl and Sarah Lawson.
On November 27, 1976, Jim and Debbie Campbell were united in marriage in Tulare, California. Together they were blessed with a daughter, Melody.
Jim attended Little City Baptist Church in Madill. He was a retired police officer, and most recently he worked for O’Reilly Automotive. Jim was a dedicated Kansas City Chiefs fan. He liked to hunt and fish, and especially enjoyed working on his guns. Jim loved to spend time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Debbie.
Jim is survived by his daughter and spouse, Melody Ellis and Glen Marshall; granddaughter and spouse, Jamie and Sebastein Spencer; great grandchildren, Lilly, Isla, M.J., and Landry Spencer; brother Terry Lawson and sister, Karen Hodges.
Jim was very loved by his friends and family in Marshall County, Oklahoma as well as Ava, Missouri and surrounding communities.
Funeral services for Jim will be Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava, Missouri. Visitation will be at 9:00 A.M until service time. Burial will be in the Thornfield cemetery, Thornfield, MO. Officiating will be his brother, Terry Lawson.
