James loved taking his children and grandchildren fishing and always seemed to out-fish everyone, every time. Deer hunting with his grandsons was always a highlight. He loved sharing his life experiences aboard the USS King, as well as many other ships with friends and family. He also enjoyed oil painting, raising pigeons, camping, cheering on the Chiefs, lake trips, and family gatherings for any and all occasions. If there was a school event or ballgame that involved one of his grandchildren, he was there!

James was a special soul and everyone who knew him is better for it.
