James Roberts

James Lee Roberts, son of the late James Byron and Hazel (Westfall) Roberts, was born February 4, 1935, in Bucyrus, Missouri, and passed away March 31, 2024, in Ozarks Methodist Manor in Marionville, Missouri. He was 89 years, 1 month, and 29 days of age.

James married Beverly Bowers on June 18, 1954, and three daughters, Robin, Tami, and Amber, were born to this union. The family moved to Colorado for a while where James worked in the coal mines. They later moved back to Missouri, where he bought a farm and raised beef cattle. He also was a glass glazer and installer for many years.

James was a devoted Christian and family man who raised his family in church. He loved the Lord and was active in his church before his health failed and was no longer able to attend.

James put out a big garden every year that he enjoyed working in, picking, and canning what he grew. He was a hard worker and was always busy at something after he retired. He loved woodworking and could build almost anything. If he seen something he liked he could usually build it. James loved life and he enjoyed visiting with family and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 58 years, Beverly Roberts, and one sister, Shirley Marshall.

He is survived by his three daughters, Robin Ipock and her husband, Paul, of Seymour, Missouri, Tami Twitty and her husband, Larry, of Springfield, Missouri, and Amber Plemones and her husband, Gary, of Rogersville, Missouri, one sister, Mary Ann Coambes and her husband, Harry, of Springfield, Missouri, six grandchildren, Shelby Lawson and her husband, Clark, April Bilyeu and her husband, Bill, Ross Ipock and his wife, Carrie, Wes Waggoner and his wife, Tracy, Joshua Plemones, and Skyler Plemones and his wife, Abbi, six great-grandchildren, Brady, Gracie, Clay, Pierce, Lanie, and Ali, two great-great grandchildren, Finn and Isam, and other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.
