Janice M. Boone was born October 4, 1937 to Asa and Elizabeth Forristall in Springfield, Missouri. She went to her forever home July 3, 2020.
She was united in marriage on July 21, 1961 to Gerald “Pete” Boone in Reno, Nevada, who preceded her in death February 7, 2020. To this union they added two children, Clara and David.
Janice was the proud wife of a United States Airman and lived all over the country going from military base to military base while raising her children. The family moved to West Plains in 1979 and she was employed at Ozark Medical Center until she retired.
She loved visiting with friends and bragging on her grandbabies. Going to the beauty salon and bragging on her grandbabies, and going out for Chinese food and bragging on her grandbabies to anyone that would listen.
Janice is survived by her son, Dave and wife Lisa; daughter, Clara Young; sister, Joyce Forristall; three grandsons, Jason Young, Wesley Young and Nathan Boone and wife Kialy; one granddaughter, Lynsey Sullivan and husband Cam; three great grandbabies, Kensi Young, Larsen Sullivan and Tanner Sullivan; two aunts and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
The family asks that any contributions be made to “Friends of Kids with Cancer” and left at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at South Fork Cemetery, Howell County, Missouri.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 6, 2020 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.
Burial will be in South Fork Cemetery, Howell County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains
