Janice Colburn, 75, of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Friday, December 15, 2023. She was born October 12, 1948, in Doniphan, MO, to the late Dossie and Claudia (Faulkner) Payne.
A kind and caring mother and grandmother, Janice liked to cook for her family and cherished time with her grandchildren. She also liked to spend time fishing. Janice attended Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.
On August 21, 1982, Janice married C.H. Colburn on the banks of Current River. He preceded her in death on September 9, 2022. Janice was also preceded by a brother, Dennis Payne, and a sister, Arlene Kohlmeyer.
Surviving are her children, Jason Colburn, Heather (Todd) Leadbetter, Brad (Linda) Wheeler, and Greg (Christie) Wheeler; a sister, Yvonne (Bob) Hill of Clarksville, TN; brother, Melvin (Melody) Payne of Florida; and grandchildren, Landon, Adam, Alex, Garrett, Molly, Jackson, and MaKenzie, along with 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, beginning at noon with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Brother Russell Chitwood will be officiating, and burial will be in the Towles Cemetery.
