Jannes Barbara Lowe

 

Jannes Barbara Lowe, a resident of  Willow Springs, MO, passed away at Cox Healthcare in Springfield, on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. Jannes was born January 11, 1947, in Elmhurst, IL to Simon and Laverne (Forster) DeChristopher and was 77 years old.

Jannes grew up in Elmhurst, IL and had a lot of wonderful memories there with family and friends before moving to Willow Springs. MO in 1986. She graduated from York Community High School and attended Western Illinois University. For many years she worked as a waitress and was well-known and liked by all her customers and friends. Later, she worked at Mountain View Fabricating before becoming a homemaker. She married Hershell Lowe on September 23, 1987, at Lloyd Collins’ home. She loved the Lord and looked forward to one day going to see Jesus. In her free time, she enjoyed making things for people, spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids, going out for coffee, visiting at various times with her in-laws Sis, Iodine, and Lorene, talking on the phone with her siblings, and reminiscing about her youth. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

Jannes was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Laverne; her son, Mark Allen Goodwin; and her siblings, Simon, Laverne, Bruce, and Sandra.

She is survived by her husband, Hershell; her daughter, Laurie Earls and husband, Floyd; her sister, Nancy Pruter and husband, Ron; her brother James Waddell and wife, Mary Jo; her sister, Patricia Plass and husband, Jim; ; her grandchildren, Ashley Earls-Pruett, Katrina Benefield and husband, Andrew, and Ethan Earls and wife, Kassidy; her great-grandchildren, Chloe Pruett, Axton Walls, and Bonnie Mae Earls. She is further survived by numerous, beloved nieces and nephews.

The family requests that donations be made in Jannes’s name to Compassion International on their website Compassion.com. A Graveside funeral service for Jannes will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery with Pastor Bryan Brown officiating on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 10:00 AM.
