Jerry Max Campbell, 82 years, 1 month, 25 days old, passed away on May 16, 2021 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, MO.
Max was born March 21, 1939 in Union, AR to Andy and Myrtle (Blevins) Campbell.
Max was an Ava High School graduate. He was also a U.S. Air Force Veteran.
On November 14, 1981 Max and Norma (Holland) Adkins were united in marriage at Lafayette, IN.
He lived in Indiana until moving back to Ava in 1993. Max did custodial work for Purdue University for several years. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Ava. He loved playing his guitar and harmonicas and visiting with his friends.
Max was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers, Jim & Charles Campbell and a nephew, Jimmy.
He is survived by his wife, Norma of the home in Ava, his sister and her husband, Violet & Bob Sell of Forsyth, MO, sister-in-law, Wanda Campbell, several nieces, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Max will be Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Tom Maples. Memorials may be made to Gideon’s International or the charity of the donor’s choice.
