Funeral Services for Jerry Neal Acklin, Age 58 of West Plains, Missouri will be held on Tuesday, May 19th, 2026 in The Rose Chapel of The Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains, Missouri, beginning at 2:00 PM. Mr. Acklin passed away at 12:59 p.m., Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Cox South, Springfield, Missouri.
He was born September 20, 1967, in Mons, Belgium, where his father was stationed during military service, to Robert and Connie Hunt Acklin. On August 17, 1994, he was married at Gainesville, Missouri, to Diana Chowning. Jerry enjoyed sports, playing golf, running marathons, and cooking. He also enjoyed watching football and was an avid Oakland Raiders fan. He was a very loving and loyal husband, father, son and brother. Jerry enjoyed a good educated discussion and loved his dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Acklin; four children, Elizabeth Chowning, Donovin Acklin and wife, Rebecca, Robert C. Acklin and Laureen Hainey and husband, Dustin; five grandchildren and one on the way, Araina, Ellie Rose, Gabriel, Brianna, Graham and Camilla; his father, Robert L. Acklin; one brother, Michael Acklin; one sister, Deborah Acklin; and two nieces and one nephew.
His mother preceded him in death.Memorial contributions may be made to American Stroke Association, and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., West Plains, Missouri.
