Jim Jenkins

Jimmie R. Jenkins, Sr., son of the late William “Ray” and Ella “Mae” (Holmes) Jenkins, was born March 30, 1940, and passed July 6, 2023, at his home in Fordland, Missouri. He was 83 years, 3 months, and 7 days of age.

Jim attended school in Fordland, Missouri, and graduated from Fordland High School in 1959. He joined the United States Army and served on the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment’s 3rd Reconnaissance Squadron in Germany. He was honorably discharged on April 30, 1964. Jim was united in marriage to Imogene Mincks on December 23, 1961, and two children were born to this union: Tammie and J.R.

Jim loved the Lord and he loved his church. He always enjoyed fellowshipping with his brothers and sisters in Christ. Jim loved his family, and he especially loved spending time with his wonderful wife, Imogene. They loved to go camping at the lake together with their friends, Todd and Bonnie, and Chuck and Sue. Jim loved being outdoors, and he really enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved to listen to his dogs run, and enjoyed sitting around the fire on Friday nights with his hunting buddies. His other hobbies included farming, listening to country music, and the countless hours he spent coaching kids sports throughout the years.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Mae Jenkins, two brothers, Don and Jackie, and one sister, Avonna Jenkins.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Imogene Jenkins, one daughter, Tammie Stacye and her husband, Terry, one son, J.R. Jenkins and his wife, Jackie, three brothers, Bill, Tom, and Dorrell, four sisters, Janice, Peggy, Alberta, and Teresa, and many extended family and friends who will miss him.

Jim bowed his head in prayer, he stood for the flag, and he never met a stranger!
