Jimmy Houston Mitchell, 86, of Glencoe, Arkansas died at the home in Glencoe, Arkansas on Thursday September 19, 2024. Jimmy was born on May 22, 1938, in Russellville, Alabama to Willie Fate Mitchell and Pearl (Quinllan) Mitchell.
Jimmy was united in marriage to Lyndal “Lynn” Ann Johnson on October 23, 1978, in Durant, Oklahoma. Jimmy spent his working years as a Construction Superintendent. Jimmy loved his wife very much and his family was his life. Jimmy was a hard worker who was always willing to lend a hand, he never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone and loved his animals. He was strong in his Christian beliefs and was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend.
Jimmy leaves to mourn his passing wife, Lynn Mitchell of the home; four sons, Jimmy Mitchell, Jr of Ft. Worth, Texas, Richard Mitchell of Kennett, Missouri, Jason Mitchell of Kennett, Missouri, and Connor Mitchell of Glencoe, Arkansas; three daughters, Barbara Rudd (Jimmy) of Dysart, Iowa, Tammy Brooks of Texas, and Angelica Mitchell of Jonesboro, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four sisters, Frances Lewis of Sanger, Texas, Cinderella Borden of Russellville, Alabama, Janelle Lane of Russellville, Alabama, and Joyce Varney of Cedar Creek, Texas; his faithful companion Mr. T; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents (Willie and Pearl Mitchell), two brothers (Billy and Johnny), and three sisters (Berthie, Bobby, and Margie).
No services are scheduled currently. Memorials may be made to the Dementia Society of America. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
