Jodi Lynn Veite, 53 years old, passed away on, September 2, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Jodi was born September 16, 1970, in Phoenix, Arizona to Charlie and Carol Roer. She grew up in Coolidge and Florence, Arizona.
Jodi and Thomas Veite were united in marriage in March 1997, in Greenville, South Carolina.
Jodi had a multitude of great friends, but her real best friends had lots of hair and four legs. She started as a baby with pet mice, gerbils, pigs, rabbits, birds, cats, dogs, calves, horses, and her favorite – by far, goats. Not just her goats, but everyone’s goats. She would take any call for help with another herd or a friend’s pet goat. She voluntarily and happily assisted Doc Chatham for many years on emergency calls. She Facetimed people all over the world with difficult kiddings and emergency goat situations. She was the “Goat Lady.”
Jodi was preceded in death by her parents and hundreds of beloved animals. Jodi is survived by her husband, Thomas Duane Veite; daughter, Lyndsie Grace Veite; two step sons, Timothy Jordan Veite and Thomas Justin Veite; two brothers, David M. Roer and Charles J. Roer, Jr.; sister, Elaine “Sissy” Roer and many other relatives and friends.
Cremation services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Homes, Inc. Ava, Missouri. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Arizona.
