John Martin Wycka, 76 years, 1 month, and 23 days old, passed away on, June 20, 2026 at his home with family by his side.
John was born on April 27, 1950 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Charles and Helen (Kerod) Wycka.
John was an Army Reserve Veteran and served six years.
John and Barbara O’Hagan met on Labor Day Weekend in 1969 and were united in marriage on May 6, 1972 in Palisades Park, New Jersey.
John was a Christian and preached at prisons and jails.
John enjoyed spending time at home and with family. He liked boating, model boats, painting, wood working and playing chess.
John worked at Bell South Phone Company in Florida and New Jersey. After he moved to Missouri, he worked at Copeland/Emerson in Ava, Missouri. He also worked at a green house and wood shop until he retired.
John was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Carl Wycka, Paul Wycka, Peter Wycka, and Melanie Wycka.
John is survived by his wife, Barbara; son, Alexander and Kirsten Wycka; and sisters, Valarie Wycka and Helene Wycka; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
John will be remembered as a loving father, husband, brother, and friend. He was a very good man and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Cremation services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Homes, Inc., Ava, Missouri.
