John Norris Anderson was born to Everett & Roberta (Norris) Anderson on July 12, 1960, in Appanoose County Iowa. John passed away at home with his wife by his side, to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 17, 2025, at the age of 64. Two months and twenty-five days before his 65th birthday. John was baptized at Eden Church in 1969. John grew up in Wayne County Iowa on the family farm with his parents and older brother, Lee. He graduated from Wayne County High School in Corydon, IA in 1979. He played football and basketball in high school and his team set the record for most wins in school history for Basketball his senior year. From a young age he enjoyed farming, fishing, horseback riding, hunting, riding his dirt bike, and sports. His first start in farming was at 10years old when his dad gave him a 3-bottom plow, which he still has today. At 15, David Murrow gave him six gilts and a boar. At the age of 18, he bought a motorcycle and rode it all the way to California to work with his cousin Dan Durham laying cable. John always enjoyed a good adventure! He eventually ended up in Indiana where he began a trucking career for 15 years traveling from coast to coast. When his father passed away, John came home and began a new career in farming. Farming was his true passion along with raising angus cattle. John loved cattle and when he was out in the pasture working on them, he was at peace. John also helped his cousin Verle Norris with his registered angus’ cattle herd. John and Verle had a special bond. They were more like brothers than cousins. John was a loving father to daughter Carly Jane, who he endearingly nicknamed Miss Muggles. The pride and love he had for Carly was all over his face whenever they were together. John always said she was his greatest blessing. John and Cindy had a love overflowing for 21 years. He was united in marriage to Cindy (Woosley) November 1, 2014, on the family farm in a special place Carly had named Narnia. John and Cindy did everything together from farming and fence building, to gardening and fishing and everything in between. They were always with one another guiding and supporting each other in good times and in bad, keeping their faith in God the center of their marriage. In 2019 John and Cindy found their dream farm, where they decided to retire to in southern Missouri. He enjoyed spending his days on the farm working on his many projects and inventions in the shop, helping his neighbors with cattle, and never knew how to say no to someone that needed a piece of equipment repaired. He even made a special wrench to be able to install a tach meter for a tractor. He would also spend time watching his favorite football team, the Kansas City Chiefs. John was preceded in death by his parents Everett Burdette Anderson and Roberta Lou (Norris) Anderson. Left to cherish his memory are: Loving Wife Cindy Jean (Woosley) Anderson, Daughter Carly Jane Anderson and Jarod Carnell of Tekamah, Nebraska, Brother Lee Anderson of Humeston Iowa, and Nephews Tyler and Karey (Palmer) and Great-Nephew Brody Anderson and Nephew Alek Anderson, along with many cousins, friends, and neighbors. Service details for John are still pending at this time.
