John Paul Seeley passed away peacefully on Friday, September 11, 2026, at his home in Willow Springs, MO due to natural causes. He was born in Jonesboro, AR on May 1, 1939, to Robert and Betty (Childers) Seeley and was 87 years old.
He graduated from Alameda High School in Alameda, CA and continued his education at Alameda City College. He married Linda Wilson on May 19, 1959 and enjoyed 67 years of life together. John served for 22 years in the Navy and retired at the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After retiring he worked in the oil fields in Houma, LA. Later he moved his family to Missouri and continued working in the community. He worked in maintenance at Bruce Hardwood Flooring, Safeway Charcoal, Ameriduct, and Invensys. He also did contract work for Lockheed Martin and other contracting companies that included other countries in Europe and Japan. John was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will be remembered for his work ethic, service to others in the community, and love for his family and country. Among his hobbies were repairing appliances, cars, and helping people in need. You could often find him tinkering in his garage. John will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
John was preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert and Betty Seeley; his brother, Robert “Bob”; sister, Sandy; two sons: Peter and Thomas Seeley; and one son-in-law, Ron Malam.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; and their children: Robert (Lynnette) Seeley of Hillsboro, OR; John Eric (Sharon) Seeley of Springfield, MO; Michael (Serena) Seeley of Republic, MO; Mary (Ted) McCoig of Smyrna, TN; and Sarah Malam of West Plains, MO; sister, Sunny Miller of Willow Springs, MO; along with many beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
