John Patrick Martin of West Plains, Missouri passed away on January 30, 2025 at the age of 57. John was born on March 17, 1967 in Chillicothe, Missouri to Marjorie and John Martin.
As a child he was a member of St. Columban Parish and attended Bishop Hogan Catholic School. He was an Eagle Scout, football player, wrestler and active member of his community. He graduated from Chillicothe High School and attended the University of Central Missouri (then Central Missouri State University). At UCM, he was a member of the Delta Chi fraternity and a social presence on campus, where he met his wife of 23 years. They had three children and moved to West Plains in 1997, where John started his job at AHF, where he worked until his passing.
He could call many in West Plains his friend, and enjoyed a game of poker, repurposing old furniture and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The brief summary above does not begin to cover the passions and interests of a man who touched many lives.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Marjorie and John. He is survived by his son, Zackary Martin of Lawrence, Kansas; his daughters, Mary Kate Brasier and husband, Allen of West Plains, Missouri and Molly Bowen and husband, Keegan of Bakersfield, Missouri and his three grandchildren, Tucker, Ella, and Addie. He is always loved and remembered by those whose lives he was part of.
