John Pearman

John Froman Pearman, son of the late Clarence Courtney and Novella Faye (Barr) Pearman, was born July 13, 1927, at the farm located north of Hartville, Missouri, in the Little Creek community, and passed peacefully December 27, 2022, at his home in Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was 95 years, 5 months, and 14 days of age.

John went to school through the eighth grade at Little Creek School and graduated from Hartville High School in 1945 as Valedictorian of his class. Following graduation, John stayed on the family farm for one year and was drafted into the United States Army and served for a little over one year before being honorably discharged. John was united in marriage to Jewell Broyles on June 3, 1949, in Springfield, Missouri. Three sons were born to this union. John and Jewell bought their first home in 1958 for seven thousand dollars and lived there for 55 years and then decided they needed more room and bought a bigger house. John went to work for Morris Palmer in Hartville and moved to Mountain Grove in the fall of 1949. He operated Tri-County Gas Company for 36 years before retiring in 1989.

John and Jewell have been members of the Southside Baptist Church for the last 50 years. John enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and camping with family and friends.

Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by three sons, Daniel, Jimmy Ray, and Harold Wayne Pearman, one brother, Harold Pearman, and one sister, Olive (Pearman) Hampton.

John is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Jewell Pearman, one brother, Carl Pearman, three grandsons, Jamie, Jared, and Courtney Pearman, several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him greatly.
