Johnny Dean Wake

 

Johnny Dean Wake passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024. Johnny was born at Hebron, MO. on May 21, 1937, to Otis and Perley (Turnbull) Wake and was 87 years old.

Johnny attended school at Little Zion through 8th grade before joining the work force. He has worked in the logging industry, owned Wakes Feed in Willow Springs, and has owned a trucking business. Johnny was a Christian serving at his church, Faith Chapel, in Vanzant, MO. He served as Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. He loved his church family. In 1956, Johnny was married to Frances Gasperson. To this union two children were born, Debbie Bryan and Johnny Kim Wake of Willow Springs. In February of 1999, Johnny was married to Pat (Montgomery) Brower. He gained two more children, David Brower and Kimberly Brower of Willow Springs. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Perley; his brothers, Buster, Gardner, Estel, Arlan, Vaude, and Guy; and his sister, Emogene Reed.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Pat; his daughter, Debbie Bryan and husband, Steve; his son, Johnny Kim Wake and wife, Libby; his son, David Brower and wife, Erin; his daughter, Kimberly Brower and significant other, Tim Collins. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Keisha Bryan, Steven Bryan, Kameron Thomas, Kyle Wake, Andrew Brower, and Grace Brower; his great-grandchildren, Gatlin Bunch, Kalinn Bunch, Nova White, Tucker Bryan, Logan Bryan, Brynlee Thomas, Everly Thomas, Hudson Brower, and Hatley Brower.

A visitation for Johnny will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Westside Family Life Center. The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 10 AM at Westside Family Life Center with Pastors David Lovan and Bryan Holycross officiating. Interment will follow at Little Zion Cemetery in Douglas CO, MO. The family requests that in lieu of flowers or monetary gifts, that donations be made to “Convoy of Hope” in Johnny’s memory.
