Joseph Glen Akers, 75, passed away on December 7, 2019, OMC in West Plains, Missouri. He was born on April 23, 1944, to Anvil and Ruth (Fransler) Akers in St. Louis, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by both parents, Anvil and Ruth; and one sister, Katherine Moorhead.
He is survived by daughter Tammy J. Akers Yarber (Kyle) of Birch Tree, Missouri; two grandsons, Dalton Yarber and Laramy Yarber (Jennifer); two great-grandchildren, Keileah Yarber and Reilynn Yarber; two brothers, Roy Akers (Margaret) and C.L. Akers (Fran) all of Winona, Missouri; two sisters, Betty Wilson and Alice Brown; and many nieces and nephews.
Joseph retired from the Department of Transportation where he traveled all over the state of Missouri issuing drivers licenses. He loved going to the river, riding four-wheelers and driving the backroads. He will greatly be missed by all that knew him.
