Joyce Marie Cowart, a resident of Willow Springs, passed away at her residence on Sunday, November 6, 2022. She was born July 15, 1961, to David Mitchell and Phyllis Jean Singer in St. Louis and was 61 years old.
Joyce attended school in Florissant up to her eleventh year. After school, Joyce found work in the culinary arts working as a baker and as a specialist dietician for people in long term care. In 1996, at the Picket Courthouse in Arkansas, Joyce married James Leon Cowart. She had many enjoyments in her life, however, she especially enjoyed gardening, spending time with her grandkids, shopping, and reading Danielle Steel books. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who loved and knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Phyllis; her stepfather, Max; her brother, David, and several uncles.
She is survived by her husband, James; siblings, Debbie (Ricky) Ward, Dawn (Ronald) Ward, Mark (Rita) Clayton, and Sharon McKinney; children, Maxine (Alvin) Burns, Missy (Geoff) Norred, Phyllis (Tommy Sawyers) Bankin, Karen (Mike) Waller, Tammy (Eric Johnson) Cowart, and Mike (Alanna) Cowart; grandchildren, Shawn (Kayla) Burns, Charlie Burns, Jaden Jordan, Tyler Haygood, Macey Haygood, Jamie Waller, Lakota Waller, Kaiden Johnson, Kadarius Johnson, Alivia Chambliss, and Alyssa Slone; she is further survived by great grandchildren, Ryder and Alena Burns.
There are no services planned at this time; However, a memorial service may be announced at a later date.
