Karen Hayden, 67, of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at her home, Thursday, March 27th, 2025. Karen was born in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, & was a resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast for 20 years, before returning home to Mammoth Spring. Karen graduated from Phillip’s Junior Community College & has worked in the medical field for over 35 years. For the past 12 years, she worked as a Chiropractic Assistant for Doctor Garrison of Spring River Chiropractic in Mammoth Spring.
On the Gulf Coast, she met the love of her life, Frank Hayden, & was married to him for 13 years until his sudden passing in December of 2005.
Outside of work, Karen was an avid gardener who truly loved being outside watching the hummingbirds in the spring. She also enjoyed reading, cake decorating, sewing, going to various concerts with her daughter, & watching movies. Most of all she loved being with her family. Those who knew her knew how much she loved taking care of her loved ones- all of them. She loved to give, whether it be presents, food, or laughter. She loved to spoil her daughters & granddaughters, regardless of the occasion.
She is preceded in death by her father, Delbert Oakes, her beloved husband, Frank Hayden, & her soul cat, Mimzy.
Karen is survived by her mother, Mary Grable; two daughters, Melissa Hayden & Amanda Crose (Jason), & her grandchildren, Alayna & Kaylen Crose; two sisters, Linda Boyd & Jan Powell (JT); along with her Aunt Pat & Aunt Evelyn, several cousins, & her nieces & nephews, who are as follows: Brett Richards, Brian McBride & his son, Brayden McBride, Josh Pace, Heather Pace & Bobby Roof & their daughter, Monroe Roof, Adam Miller, & Brittany Smith & her children Alexander & Clara Smith- & Karen’s cat, Rhaegar.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at 270 Archer Avenue, Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, 72554.
