Kathie Elaine (Kinnaird) Frederick was born on March 5, 1946, in Plato, Missouri. She went confidently to her heavenly home on January 12, 2023, at the age of 76.
She is survived by the love of her life, Richard Earl Frederick; her two children, Becky Lynn (Frederick) and Marvin Corbin and Robert and Leslie Frederick; her five grandchildren, Elizabeth and Abigail Frederick, Erin, Caitlynn, and Heather Corbin; along with her four great-grandchildren who she cherished more than anything; her sisters, Raona and late husband Bud Wade, and Elieen and Larry Meinsen; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Wyona Elizabeth (Swetnam) Kinnaird and Ray Dee Kinnaird; along with one brother, Carrol Ray Kinnard; and one sister Francis (Kinnaird) Higbe.
Kathie was the fifth and last child of Wyona and Ray. She bounced around different schools throughout her younger years, including Bloodland Elementary, Blackbird Elementary, Plato Public School, West End Elementary, and finally graduated from Willow Springs High School in 1964. She then attended Ozark Bible College from 1964 – 1967. In January of 1968, she left for Washington D.C. to be employed by the FBI, where she stayed until 1970. This is where she met Richard, the man she so happily spent the rest of her life with. He is the third child of Robert and Irene Frederick, and they were married on September 13, 1969. To this union, two children were born, Robert on September 13, 1970, and Becky on March 5, 1973, both in Fairfax, Virginia. They lived together in Richard’s hometown of Woodbridge, Virginia, for nine years. He was employed with the Prince William County Police Department in Manassas, Virginia. In January 1977, they moved to Winona, Missouri, where they would spend the rest of their lives together, making precious memories. Richard started his career at Paramount Cap Co., and Kathie started hers at the Winona Elementary School as a teacher’s aide, where she touched the lives of hundreds of students until her retirement in 2011.
This woman touched so many lives in so many different ways; from being blessed enough to teach two of her five grandchildren, to always putting the needs of others before her own. There wasn’t a more loving, generous, gentle, and kind person that could have blessed this Earth. She loved at all times, and even when she tried to be stern, it was always with love. She deeply loved her husband of 53 years, her children, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, and the rest of her family with her whole heart. Her family was what she lived for. Whether it was talking with friends, painting her pictures, sewing her projects, or even talking to strangers, she always found a way to include her children, all of the beautiful grandbabies, and great-grandbabies that the Lord blessed her with. She made a second home, a mother, and grandmother to all that entered her home. It was the favorite place for her grandchildren to be, and she was their favorite person. There was never a weekend of their childhood when her house wasn’t full of girls. She was truly their greatest supporter in every way and their biggest role model. From the loving and inspiring relationship, she had with her husband to her constant patience and enduring love for God. There will never be a day that she isn’t with us in our hearts. She will always be remembered through her artwork, hand-made gifts, the best hugs, and her lap that always managed to fit everyone on it.
She was the best sister, wife, mother, grandma, meemaw, and friend that anyone was lucky enough to know. The memories and years of happiness she created will forever be cherished.
