Kathleen Bernice Salern, 85 years, 2 months, 2 days old, passed away on October 9, 2024, at Heart of the Ozarks Health Center in Ava.
Kathy was born August 7, 1939 in Los Angeles, California, to Harold and Dorothy (Winchell) Stephenson.
She retired from Xerox where she worked as a warehouse clerk.
Kathy moved to the Ava area in 1997 from California. She enjoyed going to swap meets, thrift stores, animal auctions, and visiting friends. She also volunteered at the Heart of the Hills Thrift and Food Harvest in Ava for several years. Kathy lived a simple happy life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Tina Blackwell and brothers, Loren and Chris Stephenson.
Kathy had friends that she cherished and considered them as her family; they are, Toni and Lanny Meins, Toni’s daughter, Erica Graham, (whom Kathy thought of as a granddaughter), and Bob Klon from Michigan, whom she considered as her son. Also, last but not least, her little dog, Chigger that she adored.
Graveside services for Kathy will be Friday, October 18, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at the Dogwood Cemetery, Douglas County, MO (West Hwy. 14). Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
