Kathleen Wainwright, 84, of Salem, Arkansas passed from this walk of life on Thursday, October 12, 2023, in Salem.
She was born on September 14, 1939, in Camp Arkansas to Harold and Mildred (Risner) Wheeler. Kathleen was raised on a farm and as the oldest of three girls worked hard milking cows, gardening, picking up rocks, and caring for animals. She was united in marriage to Jerry Watson Wainwright on March 30, 1958, and was blessed with one son Larry Alan Wainwright. Her first job after high school was at North Arkansas Electric Cooperative in Salem Arkansas. She then worked at Florida Hospital in Orlando, Florida for many years before retiring. Kathleen enjoyed going to the beach, collecting shells, watching birds, and reading. She was very involved in her church Seventh Day Adventist in Mammoth Spring and loved going to the nursing home to visit and sing and visiting her church family. Kathleen could often be found at the Senior Center in Salem.
Kathleen is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Terri Wainwright of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, sisters, Juanita Newman of Salem, Arkansas and Ruby Leveritt of West Plains, Missouri. Grandchildren, Jakson Wainwright and Ashley Vasquez, 7 Great Grandchildren, Cristian Chavez, Cesar Chavez, Camilo Chavez, Delilah Wainwright, Bear Wainwright, Archer Wainwright, and Zara Wainwright; Nephew, Stephen Newman, and Nieces, Faith Polson, Joy Newman, Grace Newman, Christina McConkey, and Mary Brown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and Great Grandchild, Dohntae Vasquez.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 18, 2023, beginning at 2:00pm at Doty Family Funeral Service Chapel in Salem, Arkansas with Pastor Elroy Tesch, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:00pm. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery.
