Kenneth Roy Tarter was born on September 11, 1947, in Eminence, Missouri, to Gilbert and Clara (Smith) Tarter. He departed this life on May 27, 2026, at his home in Eminence, Missouri.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Clara Tarter, and one brother, Raymond Tarter.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Tarter of Eminence; three children, Kenny Tarter of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Sheila Boaz of Osage Beach, MO, and Samantha Sollars of Eminence; four grandchildren, Jesse Boaz, Nick Boaz, Madison Shipton, and Madaline McDonald; and one sister, Ruby Nichols.
