Kristin D. Coursen, 80, of Willow Springs, Missouri, went home to be with the Lord on March 10, 2021. She was eager to join her husband, Don.
Kris was born on May 16, 1940, to Paul E. Thompson and Pearl (Dverseth) Thompson in Palmer, Alaska. She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in Alexandria, VA in 1958. She attended the College of William and Mary for two years, where she met Don Coursen. They were married in 1961.
They had two sons, Topper and Ken, and she worked hard as a homemaker and supported Don in his career. In the 1970s, they both gave their hearts to the Lord. Together, they played an active role in their church and invested in the lives of their children. As the family grew to include grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she regularly prayed for each of them and was always ready to provide encouragement and spend quality time with them. She loved nature and music, and could often be found in her sunroom reading her Bible or watching the birds and chipmunks in her yard.
Kris was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents, Paul and Pearl; and her brother, Pete Thompson.
She is survived by her son, Topper and his wife Melissa of Broken Arrow, OK; grandsons, Jonathan, Benjamin, and Jedidiah; her son, Ken and his wife Carey of Willow Springs, MO; grandsons, Andrew (Audri), Brandon, Samuel (Gaby); great-grandsons, Josiah, Michael, and Issac; granddaughter, Irina Smith (Carson); great-grandsons, Callen and Lukas; granddaughter, Elena Hober; and great-grandchildren: Elliana and Tytus.
She is also survived by her sister, Pat Thompson of Alexandria, VA; her nieces, Paula Thompson; Angela Thompson; and great-nieces, Heaven Marie, and Livia Marie.
Dad and Mom, we love and miss you both very much.
A private service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Willow Springs, MO. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
