Larry Arthur Ludwig, 85 years, 9 months, 28 days old, passed away on October 19, 2022 at his home with his family by his side.
Larry was born December 22, 1936 to Bailey and Iva (Robertson) Ludwig. Larry was raised in Ava, MO with his six sisters.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and five sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; his children, Wendy & Gary Johns, Jann McCully, Larry Ludwig, Jr., Lance & Amy Ludwig and Lyndon Ludwig; 11 grandchildren, Sarah, Jason, Elaine, Elliott, Rochelle, Madison, Karen, Ash, Madalyn, Mallory and Myley; three great grandchildren, Riley, Ryker and Noah; one great great granddaughter, Kiernan. In addition, Larry also helped raise and mentor many other children and young adults.
He was a graduate of Ava High Class of 1955. Larry was a member of the American Machinists Association, and worked many years at Del Monte canning plant of Rochelle, IL as a machinist. He moved his family to Ava in 1969 and worked as a substitute mail carrier for twenty years. He also worked at Western Auto, and 39 years at Town & Country Supermarket in Ava, where he retired at the age of 80. Larry was also a lifetime member of New Hope Church and later attended the Walking By Faith Church in Mansfield. When he wasn’t working, his passions included singing and playing guitar, watching ball games, working in the yard and most of all spending time with family and friends. Larry leaves a grand legacy of family, friends and memories.
