Leroy George Prange, Jr., the son of Leroy George Prange, Sr. and Imogene Flora (Braundmeier) Prange was born October 12, 1955, in Red Bud, Illinois. He passed away on May 31, 2021, in Mountain Grove, Missouri at the age of 65 years, 7 months, and 19 days.
He was united in marriage to Mary L. Burks on October 14, 1977, making their union together 43 years. They were blessed with one son, Roger Leroy Shane Prange.
Leroy came to know and accept the Lord at the Lutheran Church in Red Bud, IL as a young adult.
He attended Liberty High School and Southwest Missouri State in West Plains, MO. As a young man, Leroy served his country in the U.S. Army for four years, during which time he was stationed in Germany. He retired from Smith Flooring in January 2021.
Leroy loved spending time on the farm with his wife, raising cattle, as well as fishing, and traveling. He was an important person in the life of his nephew, Robert McAdams; nieces, Jennifer (McAdams) Seeman, Julie (McAdams) Dunn; and all their children. Leroy was their other “Dad” and “Granddad.”
He is preceded in death by his son, Roger Leroy Shane Prange; his parents, Leroy, Sr. and Imogene Prange; sisters, Nancy Matthews, and husband, Orval and Imogene Prange; brothers, Ernest, David, and Elmer Prange; and father-in-law, Othel Lee Burks.
Leroy is survived by his wife, Mary Prange of the home in Mountain View, MO; sisters, Elizabeth Prange of Indiana and Diana (Mark) Wittenbrink of Red Bud, IL; mother-in-law, Lillie Burks of Mountain View, MO; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Private graveside services will be held at Old City (Reese) Cemetery in Mountain View, Missouri at a later date. Cremation arrangements were made under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
