Leva Wilburn Hutchison

Leva Wilburn Hutchison, 87 years, 9 months, and 10 days old, passed peacefully to Heaven on October 21, 2021 at NHC Healthcare in West Plains, MO with his family by his side.

Wilburn was born January 11, 1934 in Coldspring, MO in Douglas County to George Floyd and Minnie Mable (Reed) Hutchison.

Wilburn was a Veteran and served with the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper from 1954 to 1956.

Wilburn and Marilyn Mae Hagedorn were united in marriage in Iowa and together were blessed with three children, Larry, Gary and Connie. She preceded in death. Later in December of 1967,  Wilburn and Nada Louise Sexton were united in marriage at Champion, MO. She also preceded in death.

Wilburn was a retired Correctional Officer with the state of Missouri for many years. While in Iowa he was a cabinet maker for Brahmer’s Manufacturing and also Oscar Meyers in Davenport, IA. When he moved to Missouri he found the love of his life, farming in the Ozark hills! He was a Christian and a member of the Skyline Full Gospel Church and enjoyed being a Sunday School teacher for many years. He loved hunting, especially deer season with family and fishing. Wilburn loved sitting under the tin roof at the farm house watching the wildlife and waving to all of his friends and neighbors as they drove by.  His beautiful smile and wave will be greatly missed!

Wilburn was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, Marilyn and Louise, two sons, Larry and Gary, his grandson, James Derek Conrad, his granddaughter, Ashlie Lansdown, his brothers, Brad, Lee, Rancell and Bernie and half siblings.

He is survived by his daughter and husband, Connie & Terry Lansdown, 10 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, one brother, Manuel Hutchison, several half siblings, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A special thank you to all of the in home caregivers, VA and Hospice for the wonderful love, care and support they showed to Wilburn.

Celebration of Life for Wilburn will be Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Evans Cemetery with full military honors by the Trod Herd American Legion Post 112 and U.S. Army. Visitation will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Officiating will be Pastor Bobby Page and Obituary by Rev. Robert Grisham. Memorials may be made to the Evans Cemetery.
