Linda Beverly Carner, 82-year-old resident of Grandin, MO, departed this life Sunday, January 5, 2025 She was born July 13, 1942, in St, Louis, MO, to the late James Lynn and Zilpha (Riehl) Russell.
Linda dedicated much of her life to her family and service. She worked as the manager of the deli at the local supermarket but loved her role and title of mother. This is where she found her true joy and fulfilment. In addition to her devotion to her family, Linda found joy in traveling, especially on cruises. These trips allowed her to explore new places and create lasting memories.
On July 26, 1959, Linda married Loye Carner in Gatewood, MO. He preceded her in death on September 2, 2021. She was also preceded by a daughter, Sherri Cooper; her brothers, Forrest Russell and James Russell; and two sisters, Shirley Darnell and Bonnie Pitcher.
Surviving are her children, Gary (Rae) Carner of Ellsinore, MO, Lisa (Glen) Woodson of Gatewood, MO, Melinda (Scott) Joplin of Grandin, and James (Janie) Carner of Fairdealing, MO; a sister, Sharon Gabbert; grandchildren, Brianna Grisham, Derek Joplin, Meaghan Bradshaw, Britney Payne, Amanda Berry, Kristie Donaldson, Brandi Cooper, and James Woodson; and many other dear great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with a graveside service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Hunt-White Memorial Gardens. Brother Chuck Carr will be officiating.
