Lizzie Zelma Piatt, of Timber, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023, at the age of 91. She was born on January 28, 1932, to the late Noble and Martha Counts. On November 1, 1947, she married John Piatt, who preceded her in death on October 5, 1994.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Jimmie Piatt; two brothers, Donald Counts and Tom Counts; and three sisters: Velma Shipton, Faye Bailey, and Charlene Swiney.
Lizzie, ‘Cricket’ as she was fondly known by many, loved God and her family above all else. She satisfied her adventurous spirit by roaming the outdoors and traveling from coast to coast with her family. In addition to her family, Lizzie’s light-hearted and playful demeanor charmed everyone she met along the way, including those she met during her 30-plus years working at Angelica Uniform Company. She was truly cherished and will be missed by all, our memories of her will be treasured until we meet again.
She will be greatly missed by her surviving family: a daughter, Helen Anderson of Rolla, MO; a granddaughter and great-grandson, Samantha and Sebastian Anderson of Rolla, MO; and a sister, Bernice Chitwood, of Richland, MO.
