Lynn Errol McClurg

Lynn Errol McClurg was born December 13, 1937, in Laramie, Wyoming to Cleland and Avis (Mattern) McClurg. He went to join his loved ones on May 3, 2021.

Lynn worked several jobs in his 83 years. He worked dairy farms and ranches, and graded lumber for Union Pacific Railroad in his younger years. He worked as Chief of Police for the City of Winona, then for Shannon and Carter Counties. His last job was cutting parts for Rivercraft Trailers and he enjoyed being with the “kids” there.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cleland and Avis McClurg; his father and mother-in-law, Bob and Mabel Yardley; his wife, Yvonne “Cricket” McClurg; his eldest son, Lynn A. McClurg; his granddaughter, Lynnetta McClurg; his great-granddaughters, MaKayla and Zoey McClurg; his brothers-in-law, that were more like brothers, Bill Yardley, Elza Yardley, Gerald “Butch” Yardley, and Richard Yardley; his sisters-in-law, Kathy Mahan, Nancy Yardley, Shirley Yardley, and Bonnie Yardley; and nephews, Adam Yardley and Chipper Yardley.

He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter, Christina Craig and Keith Chilton of Van Buren, MO; his son, Bob and Leala McClurg of Bowling Green, MO; grandchildren, Jason McClurg, Justin and Krista McClurg, Bethlena and Dusty Nicholson, Sara and Brian Asher, Brian Chilton, Brandy and Dan Montgomery, Delhia and Steve Voyles, Lacy McClurg, Josh McClurg and Jenna McLaughlin, Lane McClurg, and Kaylee McClurg; great-grandchildren, Anastasia Smith and Chris Haynes, Jacob and Stephanie McClurg, Sierra McClurg and Caleb Green, Corbin Tharp, Gabe McClurg, Sam McClurg, Lea McClurg, Bryli McClurg, Treyce McClurg, Seth Rowland, Peyton Nicholson, Jesslyn Lewis, Joshua and Brooke Asher, Drew Asher, Kaylee Asher, Austin Chilton, Lane and Alyssa Chilton, Danny Montgomery, Ryan and Darci Montgomery, Dalaney Weaver, Andrew Weaver, Bryson Ely, Jayden Montgomery, Ryleigh Voyles and Triston Alcorn, Carter Voyles, Ryleigh McClurg, Cooper Terry, and Zoey Schawanki; great-great granddaughters, Bristol Sterns and Hazel Berry; his brothers-in-law, Gary “Scoch” and Becky Yardley, Roger and DJ Yardley, Marvin “Gusher” and Judy Yardley; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends that he loved dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2021, at First Baptist Church, Winona, Missouri, with Pastor Steve Voyles and Pastor Nick Smotherman officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m. also at First Baptist Church. Interment will be in Pine Lawn Cemetery, Winona, Missouri.
