Margie Helen (Clark) Kilfoy, daughter of Logan and Ova (Holman) Clark, was born February 18, 1934, in Grovespring, Missouri, and went home to be with Jesus on February 23, 2023, at Hartville, Missouri at the age of 89 years and 5 days.
Margie graduated from Hartville High School in 1952, as Salutatorian of her class. She was a competitive typist and won an award at the state level for the fastest typist on a manual typewriter.
On June 20, 1953, Margie and Claude Kilfoy were united in marriage. They moved to Kansas City, Missouri for five years where Margie worked as a typist for Consumers Coop Association. She and her husband then moved back to Hartville, Missouri where they lovingly raised eight children on the family farm.
Margie’s highest calling was to be a Christian mother and homemaker. She gave birth to her first baby in 1958 and welcomed her last baby in 1977. Her children were her top priority. She invested many hours teaching them about Jesus. She taught them to sing gospel songs when they were just 13 months old. The family sang at many churches. Margie played the piano while Claude and the children tried to see who could sing the loudest!
As the children grew older, Margie worked outside the home as a traffic manager at the Wright County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. She began her career under Prosecuting Attorney Phil Huffman and retired, in May 2003, under Prosecutor Larry Tyrrell.
Margie was saved when she was 11 years old at Elk Creek Baptist Church. She loved her church family and remained a faithful member. She was the pianist and a Sunday school teacher for many years. In later years as her health declined, she shared her church attendance between Elk Creek and Hartville Free Will Baptist Church.
Margie enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren grow-up. She loved attending all their games and activities and was their biggest fan. She had a big heart and loved helping people. Her door was open to anyone and everyone at any time. She loved to shop and was always dressed in the latest fashion. She loved garage sales and finding the bargains. Music was always Margie’s passion and she loved attending gospel concerts. She never lost her ability to sing and play piano.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Claude, a son, Brent Kilfoy, two sisters, Violet Jones and Hazel King, and two brothers, Billy Clark and Logan Clark, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Jay Kilfoy and wife, Betsy, of Springfield, Missouri, Kirk Kilfoy and wife, Michele, of Falcon, Missouri, Charisse Coy and husband, Gary, of Hartville, Missouri, Danae Bogart and husband, Mike, of Mansfield, Missouri, Shawnette Cameron and husband, Tim, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, Meleah Keith and husband, Bruce, of Hartville, Missouri, and Rachelle Kilfoy of Springfield, Missouri; 15 grandchildren, Caity (Paco), Logan, Aaron, Brandon, Rashawnda (Josh), Shay, Calista, Caleb (Emily), Braidy, Ciera, Jace, Jadalyn, Jordazia, Novianna, and Zyrus; 6 great- grandchildren, Mallory, Mylee, Weston, Chaston, Zaylon, and Carson; a sister, Peggy Jones of Owasso, Oklahoma; caregivers, Addie Wilson and Lori Jerabek; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many wonderful friends.
When God gave us Margie as a Mother and Grammy, He gave us the very best!
