Marion Lee Ledbetter

Marion Lee Ledbetter, 95, of Pomona, Missouri, passed away at 4:00 p.m., on March 3rd, 2022 at Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains, Missouri. He was born to Enoch Ledbetter and Ella Hopkins Ledbetter on June 27th, 1926 in West Plains, Missouri.

He was united in marriage on June 13th, 1946 to Fern Collins– together they had four children. In 2021, they celebrated their diamond anniversary of 75 years together.

He served for his country in the Korean War He received an award for being a “Sharp-Shooter” as he was a great asset to the United States Army at the time.

He greatly enjoyed working with wood, spending time with family, squirrel hunting, and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys. “Grand-dad” was known for his love of auctions, thrift stores, and flea markets– He and Fern were always collecting something. Marion had a great sense of humor that will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his wife, Fern Ledbetter, of the home, Pomona, Missouri; three children, Rhonda Rocchio and husband, John, Wedowee, Alabama, Cheryl Squires and husband, Charles, Pomona, Missouri, and Mark Ledbetter and significant other, Mary Loy, Kokomo, Indiana; eight grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Roger Ledbetter; four brothers, Othel, Homer, Wayne, and Jack Ledbetter; and three sisters, Nancy Wheat, Betty Romans, and Fern Ledbetter.

Graveside services for Marion L. Ledbetter will be at the Union Grove Cemetery at 2:00pm on Tuesday, March 8th, 2022.
