Mark William Conway

Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Mark William Conway (affectionately known as “Trucker” or “Coach Conway” to many), was born in Denver, Colorado, on December 1, 1961, and passed away on December 11, 2024, at the age of 63. Mark was a baptized Christian since the age of 19, and his faith was an important part of his life. He believed strongly in the promise of being reunited with loved ones who had already passed on.

Mark spent many years after graduating high school as an over-the-road truck driver, including a special time driving alongside his late father, William (Bill) Conway. Later, he transitioned to driving locally for Rick Roberts before becoming the Head Sawyer at Roberts’ Wood Products.

Mark’s lifelong thirst for knowledge led him to further his education, earning a Bachelor’s degree in 2006 and a Master’s degree in 2011 from Southwest Baptist University. Upon completing his degree in 2006, he began a fulfilling teaching and coaching career at Liberty High School, where he positively influenced countless lives until his retirement in May 2022.

Mark was an avid reader and a man of many passions. Golf brought him joy for a time, but his true loves were the Kansas City Chiefs and fishing. Each spring, he could be found at Norfolk Lake, chasing stripers, and every summer, he joined friends on an annual fishing trip to Minnesota to explore lakes and catch their limits. In the fall and winter, he was never far from his television, cheering on his beloved Chiefs.

Mark had a magnetic personality and a generous spirit, serving as a friend and mentor to many. His loyalty was unmatched, as evidenced by the close bonds he maintained with his childhood friends from the legendary Class of 1980, whom he cherished deeply.

He is survived by his wife, Becky; his children: son, Dalton Brake; daughter, Brett Niehaus and her husband, Adam Niehaus; daughter, Brook Davis and her husband, Michael Davis; and granddaughters, Marley and Claire Brake and Blair Niehaus. He is also survived by his sister, Kellie, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, William Everett Conway and Wanda Leone (Younger).

A celebration of Mark’s life will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Yarber Mortuary in Mountain View, Missouri. The family invites all who knew and loved Mark to attend. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
