Mary Jane (Losh) Broyles, daughter of the late Lonnie Losh and Virgie (Worley) Losh was born January 6, 1932, in Piedmont, Missouri. She departed this life on May 31, 2022, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO, at the age of 90 years. Mary Jane graduated from Willow Springs High School in 1949 and really enjoyed visiting at the annual alumni gatherings. She married Bill J. Broyles on December 3, 1962, in Miami, Oklahoma. They shared 59 years together, while raising four children: Terry, Linda, Joe, and Melanie.
In 1950, Mary Jane’s dad bought the MFA Gas Station so she and her brother Charles could run it. She was known for pumping gas. Mary Jane worked at Town & Country supermarket for 13 years before going to work for the University of Missouri Extension Center where she retired in 1994 after 19 years. She was a long-time member of Trinity Baptist Church in Willow Springs. Mary Jane also was a member of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron for several years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved auctions and collecting antiques. She loved telling stories about her life to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and sharing with them her cooking skills. She loved being around family and she was always willing to lend a helping hand. She never met a stranger and if she did, they weren’t strangers for very long. She was definitely one of a kind and the “glue” of the family.
Mary Jane is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Melva (Losh) Brown (Roy); three brothers, Delmar Losh (Pearl), Orval Losh (Dorine), and Franklin Losh; and daughter-in-law Pam Wyrick.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bill; children: Terry (Sandy) Wyrick, Linda (Terry) LeBaron, Joe Wyrick, and Melanie (Brian) Hicks; three brothers: Charles Losh, Joe (Kay) Losh, and Stephen (Violet) Losh, sister-in-law, Betty Losh; 10 grandchildren: Kelly Toner, Melinda (Ryan) Vaughan, Brent (Jessica) LeBaron, Aaron (Christina) Hicks, Craig (Pamela) Hicks, Nikandra Loman, Jessica (Zach) Stokes, Shanica (Jon) Martin, Cody (Courtney) Hicks, Samantha (Rene) Garcia; 23 great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends who will greatly miss her.
