Mary Elaine Loughridge, a resident of Willow Springs, passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 with her family at her side. She was born August 24, 1951 to James and Joyce Elaine (Gandy) Hollingshead in Salem, MO and was 68 years old.
Mary, or “Elaine” as she was known, grew up in the Sullivan area and attended the local schools. She was employed at various motels as a housekeeper and also worked at a restaurant. She married John William Franklin Loughridge on May 12, 1968 in Salem, MO. When she wasn’t working, she liked to read and watch television, especially soap operas. It has been said that she loved Elvis and had probably seen every movie he starred in. She also spent many hours working on puzzle books. She also enjoyed sewing and making quilts; however, her favorite times were spent with her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family, her friends, and all who knew her.
Mrs. Loughridge is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son, James “Jimmy” Loughridge.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Loughridge and her significant other, Joe Arnold of Cuba, MO; Tammy’s special friend, Bruce Duncan; her sister, Brenda Hollingshead of West Plains; grandsons: James “Frankie” Loughridge and his wife, Danielle of Willow Springs, Ricky Church and his wife, Cambria of Cuba, and John Charles Loughridge of Stanton. She is further survived by her great-grandchildren: Damon, James “JJ”, Braylon, Devin, Nellie Elaine, Tammy Elizabeth, Phoebe Elizabeth, and Cash Lee.
