Mattie Sue (Horrell) Anderson, 89 of Hardy, Arkansas entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 26, 2023, at the CHI St. Vincent North Hospital in Sherwood Arkansas.
Mattie Sue was born on April 8, 1934, in Hardy, Arkansas to James William Blanford “Bud” and Glenn Edith (Hosman) Horrell. She was of the Baptist faith, a homemaker, loving mother of six children and a licensed cosmetologist.
On October 9, 1955, she was married to Rodney Elbert Anderson in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas. Together they celebrated fifty-five years of marriage. He preceded her in death on March 15, 2011.
She is survived by her children, Rodney Anderson (Becky), Joe Anderson (Paula), Jana Allen (Brent), Jon Anderson (Linda) and Andrea Anderson; ten grandchildren, Kyle Anderson (Jana), Terry Lynn Danahy, Derek Danahy (Teagan), Joseph Anderson (Debbie), Holly Braun (Joe), Justin Montgomery (Becky), Jacob Allen (Kellie), Amy Wood (Brandon), Ava Hunt (Brice), and James Anderson (Francesca); twenty great-grandchildren; son-in-law Terry Danahy; sister-n-law Carolyn Horrell and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Mattie Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law Rodney and Rosie Anderson; her beautiful daughter Tammy Danahy; great-grandson Cooper Richard Anderson; her sister Willie Ann Garner; her two brothers Lee Horrell and Jack Horrell; brother-in-law Linn Garner; and sister-n-law Clella Horrell.
Graveside service will be Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Bronaugh Cemetery, Hardy, Arkansas under the directions of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.
