Micheal Dean Floyd, 76 years and 11 months, passed away on, January 19, 2024 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
Mike was born February 19, 1947 in Natchez, Mississippi to Leonard Basil and Margaret (McAlleson) Floyd.
Mike was an Air Force Veteran and served proudly in Vietnam, Saigon, and Okinawa.
Mike was a Christian and a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Ava, Missouri.
Mike was a world traveler, working in the West Coast of Africa, China, Bataan, Singapore, Aberdeen, Scotland, Mississippi, Norway, and Houston, Texas. He worked most for Cameron Iron Works, now SLB out of Houston, Texas.
He enjoyed telling stories of his work life and life in the Air Force and restoring his Thunderbird.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Michealla Floyd; one brother, Steven Floyd; and one sister, Rebecca Floyd.
Mike is survived by his son, Geoffrey and Margaret Floyd; one daughter, Victoria L. Floyd; one grandson, Ryan Micheal Floyd; two sisters, Gerry Doiron, South Carolina and Linda Read, Vidor, Texas; three brothers, Kenneth and Debbie Floyd, Brookhaven, Mississippi, Raymond and Angie Floyd, Brownsville, Texas, and Lawrence Floyd, McCall Creek, Mississippi; several nieces and nephews and a special niece, Teresa “TJ” Zion; special friend, Tom and Diane Gordon, Yazoo, Mississippi; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Micheal will be Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. in the Floyd Family Cemetery at Union Baptist Church in Crosby, Mississippi with Military Honors. Brown Funeral Home in Gloster, Mississippi is in charge of arrangements.
