Funeral Services for Mike L. Wake, Age 64 of Pomona, Missouri will be held on Saturday, October 31st, 2026 at The Pomona Christian Church, Pomona, Missouri, beginning at 10:00 AM. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 9:30 AM. Internment will take place in The Mt. Ararat Cemetery, Topaz, Missouri.

Mike Wake, 64, of Pomona, Missouri, received his reward in heaven on Saturday, October 24, 2026. He was born on June 1, 1962, in Houston, Missouri, to Pleas and Tressie (Swearengin) Wake.
Mike married the love of his life, Laura Hobbs, on February 21, 1981. He earned his bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from UMR, then joined the workforce for the State of Missouri, where he eventually retired. While he enjoyed his career, he enjoyed his family more.
Mike was the dad who coached Mighty Mites, t-ball, Little League, and basketball. He could be found in the stands cheering on his kids at every event. He later did the same for his grandchildren, whom he adored. Mike was the most dedicated husband, father, and “Pop”.
Mike was the man who could fall asleep anywhere, but deny he was sleeping as soon as he was called out on it. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone, and was genuinely interested in their responses. He had a heart for people, and that showed in all he did.
Mike’s hobbies included city league coed softball with Pomona Christian Church, spending time with family, traveling, and building. We don’t really know what he enjoyed building, but he enjoyed making Laura’s dreams come true, so he continued to build.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Laura; his children, Michael and Heather Wake, Nathan and Nikki Wake, Stephanie and Darrell Beltz, Travis and Kayla Wake, Whitney and Jacob Solik, Ben and Ashli Wake, and Chris and Kala Miller; 19 grandchildren, Kaily, Eli, Natalie, Noah, Nixon, Neely, Gabbie, Brylee, Easton, Marley, Braylon, Calvin, Oaklynn, Hudson, Lukas, Bryant, Carter, CJ, and Bella; his brothers, Dennis Wake and Keith (Heidi) Wake; his sisters, Debbie Smith, Sharon (Bob) McPherson, and Janice (Steve) Duncan; his father-in-law, Merline (Judy) Hobbs; his brother-in-law, Randy (Anna) Hobbs; his sisters-in-law, Debbie Wake, Marcella Wake, and Shirley Wake; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Pleas and Tressie; his mother-in-law, Viola Hobbs; his brothers, Delbert, Dallas, Junior, Larry, Leon, and Paul; his sisters, Betty and Vera; his brothers-in-law, David and Short; and his sister-in-law, Sherrie.
