Mildred Nell Mitchell

Mildred “Nell” Mitchell was born in Thayer, Missouri, the daughter of Odell Forester and Mildred Brazeal Forester on December 18, 1956 and departed this life on August 1, 2020 at her home in Thayer, Missouri, at the age of 63 years. 

She was united in marriage to Darrell Mitchell on December 14, 1973 in Thayer, Missouri.

Nell is survived by her husband, Darrell Mitchell of the home in Thayer, Missouri; one son, Allen Mitchell and his wife, Tamara of Thayer, Missouri; four grandchildren, Shelby Mitchell and his fiancé, Elizabeth of Salem, Arkansas, Cody Caldwell of Thayer, Missouri, Reanna Powell and her husband, John of Salem, Arkansas, and Tristan Mitchell of Thayer, Missouri;  and five brothers, Cecil Forester and wife, Brenda of Koshkonong, Missouri, Ralph Forester and his wife, Dale of Richland, Missouri, Roy Forester and his wife, Lori of Koshkonong, Missouri, Billy Forester of Versailles, Missouri, and Jimmy Forester of Overland Park, Kansas; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Odell and Mildred Forester; and one brother, Troy Forester.  

Nell was a Christian and a pastor’s wife, assisting her husband at Clifton Freewill Baptist Church in Thayer, Missouri.

 She had a host of hobbies and activities, but she especially enjoyed taking care of her family.

Nell will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all. She will truly be missed by all that knew her.

Funeral services for Mildred Nell Mitchell will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri with Reverend Darrell Mitchell officiating.

Public viewing will be on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Carter Funeral Home in Thayer, Missouri.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Carter Funeral Home in Thayer, Missouri.

Burial will be on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thayer, Missouri with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.
