Nelva Sue McIlwain, 89, West Plains, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 14, 2026 at West Vue Nursing Center.
She was born December 16, 1936, at West Plains, Missouri, to Guy and Lois Summers Lyons. Nelva was happily married to Carroll Lee Hollingshad for twenty-eight years. On September 11, 1991, she was married at Memphis, Tennessee, to Don Berry McIlwain, who preceded her in death on December 27, 2016. Nelva worked at the International Shoe Factory for over 28 years. She was an avid chicken lover and enjoyed collecting and decorating with chickens. She was a wonderful streamstress and a good cook.
She is survived by three children, Guy Hollingshad and wife, Kathy, Mark Hollingshad and wife, Nadene and Carol Holt and husband, Robert, all of West Plains, Missouri; and four grandchildren.
Her parents, husbands, one grandchild, one brother and one sister, preceded her in death.
