Nickey Glenn Spence, a resident of Willow Springs, MO, passed away at Ozarks Healthcare Tuesday, May 23, 2023. He was born June 5, 1959, in Needles, CA to Clement and Betty Lee (McKee) Spence and was 63 years old.
Nickey graduated from Willow Springs High School and spent his life in Willow Springs. He found work at Ozarks Shelter Industries in Pomona, MO. Nickey was a huge sports fan both watching and competing. He competed in the Special Olympics for 20 years, playing softball, basketball, bowling, soccer, volleyball, and floor hockey. He also enjoyed collecting sports cards. He absolutely loved watching the Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs. He will be greatly missed by those who loved and knew him.
Nickey was preceded in death by his parents, Clement and Betty; his brother, Mickey; and his sister, Vickey.
He is survived by his brothers, Rick and Dickey; his special friend, Karen Mitchell; 4 nephews, 1 niece, 3 grand nieces, and 2 grand nephews; he is further survived by many cousins, and his beloved cat, Beast.
The family requests any donations or memorials be made out in Nickey’s name to the Missouri Special Olympics or the Cancer Society.
