Nicola Alleva, 78, of Salem, Arkansas, passed away on September 25, 2026, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born on April 24, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York, to Frank Alleva and Louise (Caponera) Alleva.
Nicola faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he devoted his life to ministry and the proclamation of the Gospel. A respected biblical scholar and minister for many years, Nicola touched countless lives through his preaching, teaching, and unwavering faith.
In 1985, he married Louise Anita Dawson in New York. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and service to others. Nicola served as Associate Pastor of Salem Assembly of God, where he faithfully ministered to the congregation and worked tirelessly to help grow the church. He loved sharing God’s Word and encouraging others in their walk with Christ.
Nicola enjoyed many simple pleasures in life. He loved fishing, cooking for family and friends, and spending time with his beloved dog, Sandy. Above all, he cherished opportunities to serve the Lord and share the Gospel with those around him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Louise Alleva of Salem, Arkansas; two sons, Christopher Dean Scherrer (Juree) of Elizabeth, Colorado, and Corey Dean Scherrer (Meg) of Seattle, Washington; two daughters, Jeanne Norwood (David) of Thurmont, Maryland, and Rose Arnett (Michael) of Camby, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Addison Norwood, Karina Norwood (Shawn Goodwin), Kylie Norwood, Issac Love (Madison), Jeffrey Longworth (Mercedes), Elizabeth Longworth, and Jennifer Longworth; and three great-grandchildren, Noah Longworth, Hadley Love, and Lucas Longworth.
Nicola will be remembered for his steadfast faith, servant’s heart, dedication to ministry, and deep love for his family. His wisdom, compassion, and commitment to sharing the Gospel will leave a lasting legacy in the lives of all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a late time.
