Nina Jean Kimrey Bates crossed over to her eternal home on the evening of January 25th, 2024.
Nina was born on August 15th, 1953, to Edward and Ruth Kimrey of Plato, MO.
Nina spent her childhood years in the small rural community of Plato, MO. Nina accepted Christ as her savior as a teenager and was baptized in Roubidoux Creek.
Nina married her high school sweetheart, Lloyd Bates. Nina’s husband was a member of the United States Air Force and together they traveled extensively from base to base for several years eventually settling in St. Louis where they lived and raised their family for many years.
To this marriage was born two children, Bryan Bates, and Heather Bates Dickerson.
Nina enjoyed a career as a Charge Nurse for the neonatal intensive care unit at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis but nothing fulfilled her more than being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Nina’s hobbies included celebrating events with family, cooking and caring for others. When time allowed, Nina loved to sit outside and enjoy peace and tranquility.
After many years in St. Louis, Nina and Lloyd moved to Lebanon to be closer to home where she could spend more time with family.
Nina was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Bates, her daughter, Heather Bates Dickerson, her grandchild, Liam Dickerson, her brother, Kenneth Kimery, his wife Patricia, and her parents Edward and Ruth Kimery.
Nina is survived by her son, Bryan Bates and his wife Tabitha of Kentucky; 5 grandchildren, Zoey Dickerson, Macy Dickerson, Zach Dickerson, Addie Bates, and Harper Bates; three brothers, Eddie Kimery and his wife Brenda of Lebanon, Gary Kimery and his wife Linda of Phillipsburg, Mike Kimery and his wife Michelle of Marshfield; sisters, Shirley Morton of St. Louis, Judy Mathis and her husband Bill of Marshfield, Barbara Stepp and her husband Rick of Nebo, Carol Foell and her husband Rocky of Lebanon, Cristi Smith and Joe of Roby.
A funeral service for Nina will take place Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Plato Christian Church. A burial will follow in Stark Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the family of Nina to assist with funeral arrangements.
