Opal loved being around her family and especially enjoyed family reunions.  She made sure to talk to everyone she could to visit and catch up on what was going on in their lives.  As a young girl, Opal enjoyed going to church where she accepted Jesus as her Savior.  She was always ready to share how much Jesus loved her and how much she loved Jesus.  Opal never lost the love she had for Jesus.  Opal had a big laugh, sometimes with a little snort at the end when she was really tickled.  She loved to laugh.  Her heart was kind.  She was always looking for what it would take to make things better for someone.  Opal cared about everyone in her circle, and once you were part of that circle, either by birth or friendship, she was fierce in her love and protection.

Opal was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jimmie Leroy Shriver and Ronald Wayne Shriver, and her husband.

She is survived by her sister, Brenda Fayrene (Shriver) Dampier and husband, Bill of Tunas, Missouri, a brother, Rodney Harmon of Estill Springs, Tennessee and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.  Opal was a truly loved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend.
