Phyllis JoAnn Brown, 85 years, passed away on September 28, 2023 in Ava, MO.
Phyllis was born December 29, 1937 in Branson, MO to Wilford Frank and Martha Augusta (Bull) Groves.
On May 17, 1956, Phyllis and John Edward Brown were united in marriage in Branson, MO and were blessed with four children.
JoAnn was a Dairy Farmer’s wife. She and her husband worked on the farm since 1969. She was also a bookkeeper for Safeway Groceries and her last job was with Empire Gas in Lebanon, MO. JoAnn was raised as a Christian and had attended the Assembly of God Church in Branson, MO. She was a dedicated wife and mother, grand and great grandmother. Her joy was taking care of her family.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Edward in 2021; her two children, Carol Brown and Ron Brown; and her sister, Nora Bray.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Donald & Venita Brown of Lebanon, MO and Cheryl & Jack Cole of Kirbyville, MO; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two sisters, Marilyn Cooley of Leavenworth, KS and Susan Warthan of Florida; one brother, Neil Groves of Nevada; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Cremation services for Phyllis are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Phyllis’s wishes were to be cremated and no services.
