Raymond Garland Branscum

Raymond Garland Branscum, 79, of Ash Flat, Arkansas, passed away on May 13, 2026, at Ash Flat, Arkansas. He was born on June 7, 1946, in Ash Flat, Arkansas, to George Garland Branscum and Ella Pauline (Nix) Branscum.

Raymond spent his working years as a carpenter, building many homes throughout the area with skill, pride, and hard work. He was known for his craftsmanship and strong work ethic, leaving behind not only houses but a legacy of dedication and service to his community.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Salem in Salem, Arkansas, Raymond was also committed to serving others as a firefighter for 10 to 12 years with the Cherokee Village Fire Department. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fox hunting, bird hunting, gardening, and spending time outdoors whenever he could. Raymond also enjoyed cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks football, Arkansas Razorbacks men’s basketball, and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Above all, Raymond loved his family dearly. He treasured the time spent with his children and grandchildren and will be remembered for his steady presence, hardworking nature, and love for the outdoors and the simple joys of life.

He is survived by two sons, Scott Branscum of Ash Flat, Arkansas, and Tim Branscum (Shelly) of Owasso, Oklahoma; and five grandchildren, Hailee Branscum, Cole Branscum (Emmy), Greg Branscum (Amanda), Lindsey Price (Jackie), and Rhiannon Perdion (Nick); nine great grandchildren; beloved sister, Carolyn Sisney of Ash Flat, Arkansas and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Garland and Pauline Branscum; his brother and sister-in-law, Gary Wayne and Lenisa Branscum; and his brother-in-law, Jimmy Sisney.
